Ways to get a quick and neat flatlay for starters to make it eye catching to others in no time

We all love flatlays, don't we? And for us flatlay bloggers, don't we need some neat, stylish flatlays which appears to be the prettiest and the most neat one that flatlay everyone craves for? I am just right here to help you out!!

Here's some of my tips and tricks to let all of you know what do I plan out before taking an organised, planned flatlay:

Plan your desired and perfect props you can use on your flatlay.

For starting out, and if you think you are failing to do a perfect flatlay and you can't think of what are the proper props to add in the flatlay you are planning? Don't worry mate, I got your back. We are on the same page.

You will be able to master flatlays in no time, if you keep in mind about the key tips about it. Me myself struggled at the very first for bringing out a perfect flatlay mainly when it came for the props. I started out with doing it with small beads, but later on as eventually I continued doing it, I excelled on it gradually. And you will too!!

So for the props, the best and the first advice I can provide you is to write down all of the item you will be using as props for your flatlays, so you won't have to cram later about it!! Suppose you can carry a field note small enough to carry inside your pocket, and even if while you're outside, not in the reach for doing flatlays and the certain item that came into your memory might disappear, you can write it all down. And then finally when you will be doing a flatlay, the best result will come out then!!

After selecting the props, you can go through examining that which props will look better in it's particular places and that's how you can get your job done!! But my advice is if you have props of both small and large sizes, you should place the large ones first then you can go for placing the small ones in between them, and ta-da!!! Congrats!! You succeded to make your very first flatlay! And if you keep continuing it, gradually you will be getting more experienced and get more knowledge about flatlays which will result for you to turn into a pro one day!!

Selecting backdrops.

Choose backdrop colours according to the colour of the list of props you will be using because backdrops are really important for a flatlay as it will help to beam the colour of your props. Now what can be your backdrops? You can do it over your wooden table which will have wooden surface, or white satin cloth for a white surface and anything which is available at your place!! For doing flatlays you won't need to buy stuffs separately, eg; props or anything, if you're that interested to do flatlays, you can start with what you have!! And that goes for backdrops as well.

I used to have my backdrops at my study table to be honest, once, like at the very beginning when I was a noob at it. Then I started trying out different things, for example white satin clothes, some of scarves or some useless piece of clothes my mom had and used it for my photography, haha.

So that's how it is done!! Now when you get into a pro level after doing flatlays for a long time and get experienced, you can go visit some of your nearby stationary stores where you can buy backdrops for different colours, for example cardboards, or some white marble surfaced boards to make your flatlay look extra eye-catching. But to be honest, I still haven't tried it out. Nevermind haha!!

Now comes for an important part. You can choose any backdrops you want, but you also need to keep in mind about the area of the backdrop. Which means, the area of the backdrop to fit all your props into it so while you are about to click it's shot, you don't get buffled. What I mean to say is, you will have to judge it properly first how are you gonna arrange your props over your backdrops' area so that all of the props that you used will be caught into the frame of your camera. That's a very vital factor to keep in your mind, to have a wonderful shot of your flatlay!!

Create your own          aesthetic theme.

This is the first theme I used in my Instagram!!

Another important factor for creating flatlays and then to post in your Instagram is to create your own Instagram aesthetic theme!! Because a certain theme talks about what kind of person you are and which type of vibes you carry!! So, it's a fun thing to do!! I bet you'll have fun making your own aesthetic theme and rock your Instagram!!

I used to have a coffee vintage theme in my feeds in Instagram, then I changed it into something retro vintage, then to a default theme, which doesn't contain any of a definite theme, but full of vibrant colors, that's what I call a 'default theme' and that's what I am working on now for my Instagram's feed.

Use natural light when you will be taking pictures of your flatlay.

Light plays a vital factor in our lives, so it does when we need to shoot pictures! I saw some of my friends taking pictures with artificial lights (though I clearly have no ideas how exactly do they manage to take pictures under artificial lights), but if you take my suggestions, I tell you NOT to go for it. Not saying don't just totally go for it, I am saying if you think you could get into a professional level, sure you can give it a go. But according to my suggestion, I tell you natural light is extremely helpful when it comes to take pictures and it does magic! Once you try, you will know.

Few apps you can use for editing your pictures according to your theme!!

So I used to get a lot of direct messages from my Instagram that how do I edit my pictures that I post, and one day I also put stories about it. But since I am writing here again, I will describe them once more!!

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom:

This app is simply the best one I ever used for editing my flatlays. It's really neat, cool and has amazing effects for which you will be able to put any of your desired effects in your picture to make it look extra marvelous, according to the theme you want. Also you will be able to adjust it's brightness by increasing or decreasing the exposure, contrast, highlight, shadows and more!! I highly recommend Lightroom so put this one at my top suggestions.

Snapseed:

Second one from my recommendation because Snapseed provides you to make the pictures look vintage with their vintage tones, hide scars and other unnecessary appearances from your pictures and as I said, the tones are AMAZING, and a lot more!! You must try it out!!

Retrocam:

Retrocam also got some killer tones and effects, but I mainly use it for the textures!! In the textures, Retrocam will be able to provide you some starry effects or some effects for the old pictures which gets white marks on it. It's really a very awesome app to edit your pictures and if you want to unlock more tones from Retrocam, you can follow them on their official Instagram page!!

VSCO:

My least suggested, that's because after suggesting it, many of you might get annoyed over me, that's why I am already giving you a trigger warning. VSCO has good effects too, won't lie. But the sad truth is, not all the effects and tones from VSCO you will get for free. Either you will have to pay for getting an individual tone that you want to use, otherwise you need to use the tones which will be given free from VSCO. So that's it!! Otherwise VSCO is good on the go!!

Other apps like 123 presets have their tones and effects locked, because to use theirs, you have to pay up. Not saying you CANNOT use it, but if you manage to afford, then go for that!! Otherwise you have my suggestions. My recommended apps are all free (except for some effects from VSCO) and all awesome and you can get them for free on Playstore, AppStore, wherever!!

So yeah, that's it!! Hope it was helpful!!
